Vince and Kristen

First and foremost, thank you. Thank you for choosing life and thank you for considering us to raise your child. We can only imagine the strength it takes to consider this path, and we’re already in awe of your courage and love. While we can’t fully understand your journey, we want you to know we see you—with deep respect and open hearts.

Our children aren’t just our kids—they’re our best friends, our greatest teachers, and the heart of everything we do. Watching them grow has been the biggest joy of our lives, and we are so ready (and excited!) to grow our family again. Your child would not only have us, but a village of doting grandparents, cousins, aunties, uncles, and bonus friends who feel like family. There’s a lot of love waiting here. Like… a lot.

Family, to us, means showing up. It means honesty, hugs when words fall short, and the freedom to be fully yourself. We want your child to feel seen, heard, wildly celebrated, and unconditionally loved every step of the way. We’re far from perfect and we know kids have bad days too and are learning everything from us. We are always trying to practice what we preach and are learning together as we go. We don’t take this decision lightly. We know it’s not easy. Please know that if you choose us, we’ll never take this gift for granted. We’ll honor you always, and make sure your child knows where they came from—with love, pride, and gratitude.

Adoption is something we had always talked about even before we were married and has always been on our hearts. We felt like this was the right time to take that step and we are so excited to welcome another child into our family.

Our thoughts on parenting:

• Our parenting is a mix of “go with the flow” and “total helicopter parent”.
• We’re laid back in a lot of ways, but deeply invested in raising kind, thoughtful kids.
• Our daughters are truly our best friends—we love spending time with them and building strong open relationships with them.
• We do our best to parent with empathy, honesty, patience and understanding.
• We absolutely can’t wait to form a bond with another child in the same way.

We met at Vince’s brother’s engagement party (he married my best friend and now we’re sister in laws!) It took awhile at first; we were far from the couple people expected – total opposites, lived an hour apart and had completely different lifestyles. But we never looked back! We’ve been together for 12 years and married for almost 9.

Our lifestyle is full and busy in the best way—between school, sports, and all the day-to-day rhythms, there’s always something going on. No matter how packed the schedule gets, we always make time to incorporate regular exercise, good eating habits and connecting as a family. We’re not ones to sit still for long and love finding things to do, whether it’s riding bikes around the neighborhood, tackling a project at home, or heading out for a fun family outing. That said, we also enjoy the simple things—game or movie nights or quiet evenings just being together. It’s a balance we really value, and it’s made our family feel so connected and fulfilled.

Fun facts:

• We love camping at our lake property.
• On our Bucket list is to hit all 50 states with our kids before they turn 18 and to visit Italy and Greece.
• Kristen can crush Vince at almost all games of mini golf (he will tell you otherwise).

Kristen is the most selfless, loving, and grounded person I know. Her entire world revolves around the girls. She puts their needs first in everything she does. Whether it’s packing lunches, making sure they’re at every activity, or cheering them on from the sidelines, she shows up for them in every way. She has a deep love for our kids, and it’s clear in everything she does. She’s the kind of person who makes the everyday feel intentional. She never misses her afternoon coffee, she’s smart and thoughtful with money, but she’s never afraid to spend on things that create joy and memories. She’s quiet at first, but once you get her to open up, she’s incredibly thoughtful and easy to talk to. I love that about her. She’s my balance. I’m the goofy one, the loud sideline coach, the dork who says inappropriate things at the wrong time—and she not only puts up with it, she loves me for it. She supports me in all the ways that matter most and never asks me to be anyone but myself. Kristen is the heart of our family, the glue that holds us all together, and the person I’m endlessly thankful to do life with.

Vince is the most hardworking, passionate person I know. He gives his all to everything he does—especially our family. His sense of humor might lean toward that of a 12-year-old boy at times (I say that lovingly), but somehow, he still manages to make me laugh even when I’m trying to be mad at him. He would do absolutely anything for us—and wants nothing more than for the girls and I to be happy, and it shows in everything he does. Watching him become a dad has been the most incredible thing. He’s a total girl dad in the best way—painting nails, learning how to do hair, and still turning on a hockey game to watch together. This year, seeing him coach has been so special. The way he connects with all the kids, how much they look up to him—it’s just another side of him I’ve loved getting to see. He’s my best friend, the person I want to talk to first, laugh with, or hug at the end of a hard day. I feel lucky every single day that he’s my partner. He stays on top of our meal prep, helps with chores and even bakes his own bread! We keep him around for that alone. 😉

We live in Washington State, which means we get all four season- if you count “rain” as a season – but we’ve grown to love it for the beautiful summers we get at the end of it. We are lucky to have Mt Rainier in our backyard and many parks to explore!

Our home is in a quiet cul-de-sac in a family-friendly neighborhood where kids are always outside riding bikes, drawing chalk cities, and running around until the sun goes down. Vince’s sister and her family live right across the street, so there’s a lot of cousin time, spontaneous playdates, and shared dinners.

We have a huge backyard where Vince and his dad built the swings, and we’ve added a playhouse, sandbox, and a digging corner. There’s always something going on out there. Inside, we always convene in the kitchen. It’s the center of the house and where all our chats, meals and play happen. At the end of the day, we all love to wind down with snuggles in our rooms, a book, or a movie night. Whether we’re home or out adventuring, we love making the most of where we live.

Madi is our oldest child and shines in her role as such. She’s sweet, super helpful and loves being around babies and little kids- taking care of them and making them feel special. She can’t wait to be a big sister again now that she’s older and can “help” more! She plays lacrosse, does swim and loves doing anything with her friends and cousins.

Emily is almost 6 and full of imagination and joy. She’s playful, funny and always coming up with creative stories or games (and is never afraid to tell me how wrong I am playing it.) Every baby or baby item she sees is “the smallest, cutest thing I’ve ever seen” and she is so excited about the idea of getting to finally be the big sister too!

Vince and I are both incredibly close with our families, and we feel so fortunate to have them nearby. Both sets of grandparents live close and are actively involved in our kids’ lives. Vince’s sister and her family live right in our cul-de-sac, and we have close friends and two sets of cousins within five minutes of us, with even more family just an hour away.

Family time is a big part of our lives—we have monthly dinners and regularly get together for birthdays, BBQs, or just because. Every summer, we take a trip with each side of the family, and we recently started a new tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving with both sides at Vince’s parents’ house. It’s quickly become one of our favorite gatherings of the year!

Our family is big on traditions! Do I go overboard? Possibly. :-p

• One of our favorite traditions is our annual 3rd of July party – 10 years standing – and is a huge hit! Everyone gets into their costumes and there’s always a ton of food.
• Christmas is a favorite at our house and December is usually a busy month for us include matching Christmas jammies, baking and decorating Christmas cookies, Fantasy Lights, Holiday Magic at the fairgrounds, seeing a Christmas play with friends, getting a Christmas tree with Nana and Papa.
• Other holiday traditions include drawing on Easter eggs instead of dyeing them, making each other our favorite breakfast on Mother’s and Father’s day, Valentine’s treats, and an epic shared birthday party (their birthdays are a month apart).
• One of my other favorite traditions with the kids is sharing our “good thing and bad thing” every night at dinner. It’s such a fun way to stay connected and get a peek into their perspective of the world.
• We truly love spending time together and believe in making memories, both big and small. Our whole family makes physical activity a huge priority whether that means going for a hike, going to workout with mom or going for a walk or bike ride around the neighborhood.

Vince is the Vice President of Sales at his family’s upholstery supply company. Vince and his siblings are third generation owners. He loves his job and is one of the hardest working people I know.

Kristen is a photographer and made it a full time gig after Emily was born. The girls go with her on photo shoots all the time and clients love having their company. She also runs a local non profit.
