There are so many things we wish we could say, and yet words feel small compared to the gratitude we hold for the courageous decision you are considering. Thank you for the courage it takes to read this letter and to consider such a loving and selfless decision. Words feel inadequate to express our gratitude, but we want you to know how deeply we honor you. While we don’t know what the future holds, we do know that we will unconditionally love and care for any child God chooses to bring into our family.
We come from very different backgrounds—MaKenzie was raised in a small farm town in Ohio, and Pradeep was born in India before moving to Michigan at age twelve. We met in 2010 at a Christian college conference in Chicago, and our friendship grew into love. We were married in 2016, and blending our cultures has been one of the greatest joys of our life together.
Early in our marriage, we learned that biological children will not be part of our story. While that brought its own grief, it also led us clearly toward adoption. Through adoption, we have experienced God’s faithfulness in ways we never could have imagined.
In October 2020, we welcomed our first son, Elijah. He is now five years old and fills our home with curiosity and joy. In 2022, we were blessed again through adoption with our son Abhi, who was born in San Diego and is now three. Being their parents is one of the greatest privileges of our lives.
Faith and community are central to our family. We are surrounded by friends who love us like family and who will love and support your child alongside us. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and stability.
Most importantly, you will always be an important part of our story. Just as we do with Elijah and Abhi, we are committed to honoring and sharing your story with respect, honesty, and gratitude.
With love,
MaKenzie and Pradeep
