Firstly, we want to start by saying thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little bit better. As a couple, we wanted to expand our family through adoption because we feel we have been so blessed in our lives to have an opportunity to pursue this path. Over the past year, we have had some setbacks in our journey of starting a family having gone through 3 miscarriages with few answers as to why. While having our own struggles; we don’t pretend to know everyone’s challenges and hardships in life, we only know that the bravery and selflessness that you’ve shown by considering adoption is truly moving. We’d like you to know that you are not going through this process alone and that together we can provide your child with a life full of all the things a kid could ever want in life.

If given the opportunity to provide a warm, loving environment for your child we would experience what we can only describe as a sense of completion in our lives. We would be eternally grateful for your altruistic decision; a decision that would be honored by your child as well as us as we make sure to honor your story. Your child will be loved unconditionally by us and our family. We will make sure to provide a home that is full of love and support throughout their lives and will try our best to make sure they are given every opportunity in their life to be the best person they can be.

Lastly, we just want to again say how moved we are by your strength in making this selfless decision that we know was not taken lightly. We want to say thank you for considering us as parents to raise your child. We would like you to know that your consideration of us has and will make an everlasting impact on our lives by allowing us to grow our family by choosing us to provide a loving home for your child. • We met on a one-sided blind date
• We enjoy practicing hot yoga
• We have gone to multiple concerts to see our favorite artists
• As a couple we enjoy traveling, and a bucket list item is to visit Europe
• Since we have a full size pool table at our house we do enjoy playing pool in our downtime
• A somewhat surprising fact is that we are also both left-handed!

A glimpse into our daily lives consists of lots of time spent together as a family. We share a passion for cooking resulting in us trying many different dishes from many different cultures. We are an active couple who enjoy all kinds of sports and exercising whether it’s playing tennis or softball or golf. Staying active for us includes going to the gym or taking our dog Rosie out on walks through the neighborhood. We are lucky to have most of our immediate family members living in town, so on weekends, we like to stop by and visit with family as well. Weekends also consist of hanging out with family and friends sometimes going out to dinner or checking out the latest movies. We are morning people who like to get our day started early. As a couple, we also enjoy working on planting and landscaping our yard. Some ways we relax at the house include reading as well as catching up on some of our favorite TV shows and series.

Our dog is Rosie- or as we like to call her Nosey Rosie came into our lives about 2 years ago. She is the sweetest dog and loves to make friends with everyone!

We are choosing to embark on our adoption journey because our hearts long to share our unconditional love and joy with a child. Having a family of our own has always been a dream of ours since we got married. What we could’ve never imagined was the heartache, grief, and pain that would come with making this dream a reality for us. Throughout the past 3 years, we have experienced the sadness of losing 4 precious babies during pregnancy. Our hearts have always been led to adoption throughout our journey to growing our family, but we know now, without a doubt, this is His plan for us. We vow to always give your child a nurturing home that is happy, safe, and full of laughter while honoring you. Our children who have passed are our inspirations, and this is our way of honoring their memory, too. Adopting your child will forever change our lives and this beautiful opportunity will never be taken for granted. Your baby is so loved and will be supported endlessly.

A few words I would use to describe Alyson are sentimental, loving, and driven. Besides being a literal professional when it comes to kids, she has a natural gift when it comes to caring for them. Whether it be little nieces or nephews or children of family friends she is someone who loves little ones. Apart from her natural gifts when it comes to connecting with children, she is someone who always strives to be a better person. Luckily for me this a quality that I can say has rubbed off since we have been together, and I can honestly say I have become a better person having known her. I can’t imagine having a better partner in life and I know that there is no obstacle we can’t overcome together. I know that she will make a great mother and any child will be lucky to have her in their lives.

Micheal is the rock in our family. He is kind, caring, always willing to help others, and most importantly loving. Most people would describe him as quiet but he has a funny, light-hearted side of him. He is always making me laugh. One time while we were driving, I forgot I left part of my cat costume from Halloween in my car. The next thing I see out of the corner of my eye is Micheal with a straight face with cat ears. I couldn’t stop laughing. Our love has endured so much in the time we have been together. Losing 4 babies has been difficult for us, especially our son whom we lost at 16 weeks and 4 days. I truly got to witness the love that is Micheal and I am forever thankful. He’s going to make a great father.

There are a couple of different family traditions that are important to us. A couple of main ones are getting together with extended family for the holidays. Some examples are gathering at the family ranch for Thanksgiving, or Christmas when we usually have the family gather at our house. We currently combine some different cultures through our cooking. Integrating a child into those traditions would be a welcome addition and would definitely include traditions like leaving cookies out for Santa for when he stops by. Growing up both our families had many different friends from many different backgrounds so we look forward to the opportunity to incorporate any new traditions that would be culturally important to your child as well. Some fun things we do that involve kids is through work, we get to take part in many different events for patients and staff and their families. We also try to take a couple of trips throughout the year some of which include sightseeing trips, and Dallas Cowboys games.

We live in a family-friendly neighborhood that has a nice little park to enjoy. In our house, we have a pool table where we like to play some billiards. Alyson typically wins when Micheal scratches the eight ball at the end. Corpus (Christi, TX) is a beach city that is about 15 minutes from our house. We jokingly say we have two seasons in Corpus, hot and hotter. We have a local baseball team, the Hooks that we like to go watch. We also have several museums and festivals throughout the year such as the Museum of Science and History, the Dia de Los Muertos and St. Patrick’s Day festivals. There are also many different restaurants with food from different places around the world. Through our jobs, we also get to partake in family-friendly events for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month as well as Day Camp. Sometimes we will take a spur-the-moment trip to see the Spurs in San Antonio, TX, just two hours away.

We have a LOT of family with plenty of love to go around. Our parents and siblings live within 5 miles from us. You could say we are pretty close-knit, even with our extended family. We have a blend of Mexican American culture and French- Canadian and Irish traditions that blend nicely into our Americana lifestyle. We also have our work “family” who have been a part of our story for over 10 years. Both our families and our work family have been very supportive of our journey to parenthood.

Our closest circles of friends beyond our families are very diverse. It’s not often one can say they work with 3 people from 3 different countries in Africa and 1 from India/Canada. Every person is unique and special in their own way and we embrace each other’s cultures with a genuine willingness to learn, understand, and share. This is our philosophy for cultural diversity, to share it and embrace it as we blend it into our own.
