Although I cannot begin to understand all the emotions and considerations you have encountered, I greatly admire the thoughtful choices you have made. I have a deep sense of care and commitment to your child’s well-being. As a single individual, adoption provides me with the meaningful opportunity to fulfill my aspiration of becoming a parent. Building a family is extremely important to me and does not require a biological connection.

Throughout my life, I prioritized education and career development, which made finding the right partner challenging. Although I am satisfied with my current status, I acknowledge that welcoming a child into my life to nurture and support would be a profoundly meaningful enhancement.

Although I considered IVF, it was not a viable option for me. My desire to offer support to another individual aligns closely with my decision to pursue adoption.

My lifestyle balances work and leisure with a focus on maintaining an active and engaged routine. During the week, I prioritize my professional responsibilities, followed by outdoor activities such as walking my dog or spending quality time with my niece and nephews. Weekdays are generally more relaxed, allowing me to complete household tasks and stay within my local area. In contrast, weekends tend to be dynamic; I actively seek new experiences and enjoy visiting museums with family. I have a strong interest in local sports and regularly attend games or watch them at home with relatives. Additionally, I value staying connected with out-of-state family members and making thoughtful plans to visit them whenever possible, even for short trips.

I am a person who is willing to ask questions and accept help when needed. Asking questions comes with communication, which is a strong suit of mine, and I am willing to be out there and talk. I have learned from many life experiences with the support of my family and the encouragement they provide. Lastly, I engage in different community activities and services around me as I can.

Education played a significant role during my upbringing. I attended school consistently and maintained perfect attendance, graduating high school with a 4.0 GPA. I aim to help students succeed academically and encourage early learning at home. After high school, I earned a degree in rehabilitation sciences and later pursued a nursing degree. Returning for my nursing qualification was a challenging but rewarding decision, and I continue to value that choice today.

My Career

I am a registered nurse working in a community hospital within a large organization. Prior to becoming an RN, I worked as a patient care technician at the hospital, which contributed to my professional development. When I began, I worked rotating shifts until transferring to a new hospital for a position better suited to my preferences. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with colleagues willing to assist when needed. I currently work daylight, which allows me to be at home at night.

I have lived in Pennsylvania for my entire life, outside of Pittsburgh. The commute during game days can be challenging, but it provides access to events in the city. I bought my house three years ago; each room was a different color at the time of purchase, to which led me to making it my own. In selecting this home, I considered factors such as school districts, commuting requirements, opportunities for children, and proximity to family. The location offers central accessibility.

There are two parks suitable for children: one within walking distance and another about five minutes away by car, offering additional amenities. The property is very close to the local school district, providing convenient access to the track, football and soccer fields, and baseball field. The house includes a fenced in side yard and a long driveway that offers outdoor play space for children.

My family is quite large, comprising of many aunts and uncles, which results in many cousins and widespread family support. I have one sister and one brother. Although my sister resides an hour away, I frequently visit her and spend time with my niece and nephews. They often spend weekends at my parents’ home or mine. They are always welcome at my home. I live near my parents and brother; we often remark lightheartedly about simply “going back across the river” when parting ways for the day.

My family serves as a significant support system, whether I have been pursuing my education or purchasing my current home. They have provided unwavering encouragement through both challenging and joyous times, for which I am deeply grateful.

There is a history of adoption within our family—my grandfather and cousin were adopted, and recently, my cousin welcomed his first adopted child, bringing great happiness to all involved.

As a nurse advocate, I value and respect racial and cultural diversity. I acknowledge that every individual possesses unique qualities and backgrounds, all equally deserving of care and respect.

In my home, I am committed to honoring these differences by fostering an environment where your child’s individuality is celebrated and nurtured. I believe it is essential for children to understand their own culture and have positive role models who reflect it. Your child will be encouraged to embrace and express their authentic self, with my unwavering support and guidance, regardless of their racial or cultural background.

I am delighted to welcome new traditions into my family’s home and look forward to building meaningful connections based on mutual understanding and growth.

Gunner, my first deeply treasured companion, holds a special place in my life. At nine years old, this Chihuahua prefers to always have company nearby. He loves cuddling, playing, and being outside. Gunner enjoys going for car rides, whether it’s a trip to camp or a visit to see family members like Bubba or Pap. With his gentle and affectionate nature, he brings warmth wherever he goes, though storms make him uneasy. He adores his niece and nephews and looks forward to meeting every new member.

Each year my family participates in RV camping almost every weekend (May-October) at a campground, not far from home. It’s a safe haven, a home away from home. The atmosphere can be busy with camper lead activities or laid back and relaxing after a long week. Weekends consist of cooking, riding golf carts, fishing, crafts, biking, bingo, games, campfires, and conversation. Camping to me equals quality family time and creating memories.

Our family celebrates holidays with specific traditions. For Christmas, we visit my mother’s side of the family on Christmas Eve, where multiple generations gather. The evening includes a meal featuring seven types of fish, conversation among adults, a gift exchange for children, and attending church services. Including another child in these activities would allow them to participate alongside other children. On Thanksgiving, we meet at my aunt’s house on my father’s side, each contributing food for a shared meal. There are separate tables for adults and children, and I have continued to sit at the children’s table into adulthood. After dinner, we traditionally discuss potential holiday gifts and plans. These customs continue, and welcoming another child into them would involve their full inclusion. As our family expands, we welcome the inception of new traditions and experiences!

My promise is to be the best parent I can for your child—loving them unconditionally, supporting their interests, and offering every opportunity. Family means compassion, love, and kindness, and your child will always know their birth mom and how strong you are. I am grateful for you and your baby; you both have a place in my heart. I will cherish and support your child, honoring every milestone and memory, now and always.

I know the adoption process is an ongoing journey that doesn’t end if and when you choose to place your child with a family. If I’m chosen to be that family, whatever the future might bring, rest assured that I know emotions and circumstances may change, but one thing will stay the same. I’m eager to grow and learn with you in patience. Here are some promises I can make to you: I promise to love your child unconditionally. Your child will never go a day without waking up to a hug and kiss and being told how happy I am to see them. I promise to provide every opportunity to succeed by encouraging their dreams and passions. I promise to teach them how to live virtuously.
