We can only imagine the emotions you may be feeling as you consider adoption. While we would never claim to fully understand your experience, we want you to know that we deeply respect your strength and the love that guides you. Whatever path you choose, we honor the courage it takes to follow it.

We want our child to know that many people love them, and so from the very beginning, we will tell them their story. They will grow up hearing how they came into our lives, and about the strength of their birth mother. You will never be a secret or a footnote—you will be a part of their story from day one, spoken of with love and respect.

We are open to regular communication with you, especially for those memorable moments throughout your child’s life. Whether that’s through letters, pictures, or shared milestones, we want to find a rhythm that feels right for everyone involved.

Our home is full of laughter, love, and imagination. We’re the kind of couple who plays board games with friends, hikes with our dog, takes midnight canoe rides, and makes popcorn from scratch for movie nights. More than anything, we are ready to share all of that, and more, with a child.

We believe that family is built on love, not just biology. If your journey leads us to each other, we want you to know that your child will be safe, cherished, and surrounded by love every single day.

Building a family has always been a shared dream of ours, and when we were married, that dream began to take shape. Over time, it became clear to both of us that our child is meant to find their way to us through adoption. We don’t see this as a detour from our dream, but as the way it was always meant to be.

Adoption is already a natural part of our lives and something we’ve always cherished. Alyson and her sister were both adopted as babies. Her parents were always open about it, sharing letters from her birth mother each year and speaking about her with kindness and respect. Gabe’s younger brother was adopted as a toddler and has always been fully embraced as part of the family. For us, adoption means being surrounded by love, no matter how a family is formed, and now we’re excited to pay it forward.

We love spending time together in both quiet and playful ways—whether we’re taking evening walks with our dog, watching a movie, or relaxing with a good book or craft. Our weekdays have a familiar rhythm: Gabe plays fetch with Evie after work, Alyson has Tuesday piano lessons and choir practice, then we catch up with his cousin during our weekly Friday game night. Weekends are a mix of fun and rest—we cherish our Saturday morning sleep-ins, love spending time with friends (often playing DND or co-op games), and spend Sundays with Alyson’s family after church. We stay closely connected to Gabe’s family through regular video chats and visits. Our home sits on a peaceful, wooded hill with a big yard, a garden in the summer, and plenty of space for imagination and play. There’s even a fully furnished playhouse nestled against the woods, ready for fun and laughter. Surrounded by a strong support network we look forward to sharing our love for God, music, and quality time as we grow our family.

Favorite hobbies as a couple:

• Having been inspired by famous baking shows, Gabe and I like to bake tasty treats. We’re currently perfecting the pretzel but bite sized and filled with gushers.
• We read a book of choice together. Right now we’re reading The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis.

For as long as I have known Alyson, she has always had a child-like wonder. For our first Thanksgiving together, while cooking the main meal, there was some friendly splashing of water onto my shirt. I told her “If that happens again you are going to end up in the sink soaking wet”. She had the biggest smile on her face, and was constantly looking for a way to get me from outside of my reach. Needless to say, she ended up in the sink laughing the entire way. She is also a determined person. When working and effort are required, she will rise to the task. She saw a Pinterest post about a crocheted car playmat, and thought that our nephew would enjoy one for his upcoming birthday. So that day she sat down and learned to crochet, and it has become an enjoyable pastime for her. She has recently decided to learn the piano, and now takes lessons weekly. Finally, Alyson has always been a songbird. Constant singing, whistling, and humming fills our house.

One of my favorite things about Gabe is his selfless heart. Before we were married, he was hiking “R” Mountain in Idaho to watch the Fourth of July fireworks when he came across an elderly man too tired to continue. Without hesitation, Gabe picked him up and carried him the rest of the way to the top. That’s just who he is—always willing to go the extra mile (or up the mountain) for someone in need. It may seem like a small thing, but I love that Gabe is silly. He’s a fan of dad jokes (just practicing for the future, he says), and oh, the puns—there are so many! It’s the little things, like the goofy faces he makes or the way he plays with our dog, Evie. One time, he put her in a Little Tikes-style car and asked, “Need anything while I’m out?” And then there are the bigger surprises, like the day he led me outside for a spontaneous water gun fight in the summer heat. That’s one of my favorite memories, and I’m so happy he’s mine.

We live in “Northwoods” Wisconsin and are grateful to have family close by. They live on over 30 acres of forestland, along a lake that has been part of the family for generations—and with spacious land of our own to grow and roam—we can’t wait to share countless days of nature-filled discovery and play with our child.

In the summer, we’ll swim, boat, and take walks in the woods—whether cruising on Grandma’s golf cart or wandering Grandpa’s trails. As they grow older, if they’re up for it, we’ll teach them how to safely ride a four-wheeler through those same woods. Back at home, a little playhouse waits at the bottom of our hill, ready for a new friend to bring life to it’s walls. And when the weather turns cold, we just bundle up! Snowball fights, snowmen, and sled rides are the perfect cure for the winter blues. These are the memories we’ve dreamed of, and whether it’s muddy boots or rosy cheeks, we can’t wait to live every moment.

Family means everything to us. Alyson’s family lives nearby, and we spend time with them weekly—sharing meals, attending church, walking our dogs, and enjoying the occasional Friday movie night with our niece and nephew. Her side brings a calm, steady warmth. While Gabe’s family is scattered along the Rocky Mountains, they stay close through regular calls, group chats, and yearly visits; adding a playful, close-knit energy. When the distant families do meet up there is much laughter and love being shared in these brief moments. Both families are faith-centered and fully supportive of our adoption journey. With adoption already a part of our story, this path feels deeply personal to all of us.

Our faith in Jesus Christ is a guiding influence in our lives. It brings us peace in hard times and joy in everyday living. We don’t just go to church on Sundays; we pray together, study scripture, and try to become better people. This strengthens both our marriage & our desire to serve others. We hope to help our child plant, and grow, their spiritual roots. With that foundation they can live a life of purpose, be confident in who they are, and use their faith through life’s ups and downs.

We believe that love, respect, and shared values are what truly bring people together. If our child comes from a different racial or cultural background than ours, we will support them with open hearts and a willingness to learn. Gabe is close to his adopted brother, and though they are on opposite ends of the color spectrum, they view each other as equals. We believe what matters most is helping our child feel safe, accepted, and truly at home. We’re committed to learning about their heritage and making space for their story, all while nurturing a strong sense of unity and belonging within our family.

Evie, our 5 year old dog, is always ready for adventure, whether she’s chasing a ball with her “happy feet” or she’s playing at the lake. Figaro, the bigger cat, is a true mama’s boy who only cares if Alyson walks through the door. He also has big dreams of climbing the metal poles in our basement, & we admire his optimism. Fern is our other talkative 3 year old cat. She’s always up for cuddles, especially if you’re wrapped in a blanket. Life is simply better with the 3 of them in it. Just watch out for the, not so, occasional fur tumbleweed.

Like many families, Christmas and Thanksgiving are the holidays that we look forward to all year. Thanksgiving is a time for the Wisconsin families to come together at the lake and enjoy a good homecooked meal together. It also marks the beginning of the hunting season, which is culturally significant to the Northwoods. Thanksgiving night is when Redberry, Santa’s elf, begins to watch the children to see who is naughty or nice. For Christmas Eve the families come together for a fondue dinner and opening gifts from each other.

Twice a year, our church holds a worldwide conference—once in April and again in October. Here in northern Wisconsin, the fall colors peak in October and we’ve made it a tradition to take drives or go on short hikes between sessions to enjoy the beauty, always stopping for hot cocoa along the way. Sunday mornings during conference weekends start with homemade German Pancakes at Alyson’s parents’ house—a cozy way to begin a meaningful day.

For Halloween we enjoy dressing up for Trunk-or-Treat or carnival-style games with our local congregation. We also set up our ofrenda to honor our ancestors who came before us. We also use any excuse, such as a Packer Football game, to get together and enjoy good food.

• We promise to make lasting memories through camping trips, birthday celebrations, lake days, and singing together in the kitchen.
• We promise to continue family traditions like baking together, celebrating the Day of the Dead with a family ofrenda, and Christmas Eve fondue, while creating new ones together.
• We promise to parent with love, patience, and by example, always choosing connection and understanding as we guide your child through life.
• We promise to nurture their passions, whether it’s music, games, nature, or something entirely new they discover along the way.
