Dear Expectant Mother,

We can’t imagine what this moment is like for you, but we do know it takes incredible strength, love, and courage to consider adoption. Whatever you’re feeling, please know that we see you, we respect you, and we’re holding space for your journey, wherever it leads. If you choose us, we’re open to whatever kind of connection feels right for you—whether that’s updates through pictures and texts, occasional visits, or simply knowing that your baby is safe and deeply loved. You will always be spoken of with respect in our home, and your story will always be part of your child’s story. Any traditions, culture, or values you hold dear, we will honor those too. We want your child to know where they came from, and that they are loved by you and by us. We’re a loud, fun-loving, very loving family that runs on laughter, dance parties, Disney movies, and craft supplies. If your baby joins us, they’ll be surrounded by joy, support, and endless affection. You’ll always have a place in our hearts, and your child’s.

We always knew we wanted more than one child, and after experiencing infertility, pregnancy complications and two miscarriages, we started to feel like the universe was gently (or rather not so gently) nudging us towards a different path. Adoption feels like the right one. We love being parents more than anything. It’s joyful, chaotic, hilarious and full of meaning. When we met a family who had adopted, something clicked. We realized we would love a child who didn’t come from us just as fiercely as the one who did. We have more room in our hearts, in our home and in our lives, and we can not wait to share it all with another little one.

Everleigh is three years old and is already showing strong big sister energy. She loves taking care of her baby dolls- feeding them, helping them take naps and even pretending to teach them gymnastics. She is fearless, funny, outgoing and way too smart for our own good! She would be an enthusiastic big sister!

Our life is full of laughter, glitter, cat fur, and probably a dance party happening somewhere in the background. We’re a close-knit family, just the three of us, plus three cats who think they run the house. We’re lucky to be surrounded by extended family, too, and we spend lots of time visiting grandparents, cousins, and even a mini farm up north where our daughter loves feeding the animals (and we pretend we’re country people for a weekend.) We believe in letting kids be exactly who they are and cheering them on every step of the way. Right now, Everleigh’s passion is gymnastics, and you’ll find us front row at every tumble and twirl. If your child has a passion for painting, tap dancing, dinosaurs, or anything else, we’ll be right there with paintbrushes, tiny shoes, or dino encyclopedias in hand. We’re big on imagination in this house. Tea parties are a regular thing (Jeff’s nails have never looked better), and dress-up days often turn into fashion shows. Laura’s always got a craft project going, something simmering on the stove, or a stack of library books nearby.

Jeff is from Chicago, Laura’s from LA, and yes, we have a very friendly (but very real) sports rivalry. We had our honeymoon at Disneyland and are full-on Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars nerds. Our daughter already has strong princess opinions, and we support her. Laura’s been into animal rescue since she was a kid, and Jeff has come to fully embrace life with cats, fur, and surprise vet visits. He’s a serious sports fan and trivia whiz, while Laura can usually be found with a craft project or a book in hand, or perfecting a new recipe in the kitchen.

Laura is the heart and energy of our family. She’s the first one to start a dance party in the kitchen, the one who makes everyone laugh when the day goes sideways, and somehow always finds a way to make the ordinary feel fun and exciting, usually with stickers or snacks involved. She’s incredibly devoted as a mom and lights up when she’s around kids. Whether it’s organizing playdates, pulling together a craft with supplies I didn’t know we had, or just making our daughter laugh until she hiccups, Laura brings joy and creativity into everything she does. She’s also the most loyal, loving, and big-hearted person I know. Our home is warm and full of love because of her, and I feel lucky every day that our daughter- and hopefully another child- gets to grow up with a mom like her.

Jeff is the calm to my chaos. He’s thoughtful, steady and organized, which balances me out in the best ways. He takes being a dad very seriously and he’s really good at it! He’s the kind of dad that always puts his daughter first and he is fiercely protective of her. He truly loves being a dad! He will let Everleigh put makeup on him, participate in tea parties and he loves getting to take her on daddy daughter dates which almost always include shopping and chocolate chip pancakes! He is patient, dependable and is always our daughter’s number one cheerleader. He is the person she runs to for comfort and to help find her shoes (because I never know where they are either!) Jeff is the one quietly keeping the house running by managing appointments and making sure things don’t fall through the cracks. He is the anchor of the family and I trust him with my whole heart!

We live in Phoenix, Arizona, where the skies are nearly always sunny and we get to enjoy beautiful weather most of the year. In the summer, when it gets a little too warm, we cool off in our backyard pool or head a few hours north to visit Laura’s family in Prescott, where the air is cooler and the mountains are full of charm. Prescott especially comes to life during the holidays when it becomes “Arizona’s Christmas City,” with lights, festivals, and all the small-town magic. Arizona is full of surprises- people think of it as just a desert, but we’re surrounded by incredible places to explore such as Sedona and Flagstaff all a short drive away. At home, we’ve completely reimagined our space to be kid-first. Our dining room? Now an epic playroom filled with gymnastics equipment, a toddler rollercoaster, and space to create, climb, and dream. We take pride in creating a home where our daughter feels like she matters- because she does. Every choice we make reflects that our kids come first, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We are both very close to our families, and there’s no shortage of love, laughter, or enthusiastic toddler cheerleaders in our circle. Jeff’s mom and sister live nearby, and we spend a lot of time with them, especially now that his sister recently had a baby. Everleigh takes her cousin duties very seriously. Jeff also has an older brother, as well as an aunt, uncle, and extended family he’s incredibly close to. Laura’s family is a bit more spread out, but we see them often—especially up in the mountains, where her mom, aunt (basically a bonus big sister), and cousins live. Laura’s brother passed away several years ago, but her cousins have fully stepped in as honorary uncles to Everleigh, and we’re so grateful for the joy and love they bring into our lives. Our extended family is a blend of relatives by blood and by bond, and our home is always full of people ready to pitch in, show up, and make things special. Whether it’s holiday parties, Sunday dinners, or someone popping in “just to drop something off” and staying three hours, we love having a tight-knit, loud, and supportive crew around us.

We are open to adopting a child of any race or background. As a white couple we know that love isn’t enough on its own and we are committed to honoring and celebrating any child’s racial and cultural identity, surrounding them with diverse role models and communities and always doing the work to show up as informed, supportive parents.

We have three cats. Loki- renamed Lilo by Everleigh, who is a 25 lb gentle giant who lets Everleigh play doctor on him and tuck him in for naps. She also sneaks him treats which explains his recent diet struggles. Loki/ Lilo is seriously just the best cat. He acts more like a dog and is so patient. We also have Circe our two year old baby and Kitten who was supposed to be a temporary foster 12 years ago. She never got a proper name but somehow the name Kitten just fits her.

Our family loves to celebrate—loudly, joyfully, and with plenty of food and laughter. Jeff is Jewish and Laura was raised Catholic, so we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. We’re not very religious, but we love the traditions: lighting the menorah, making latkes, decorating the tree, and hosting a big Christmas Eve party with family, friends, and anyone who needs a place to go. Our rule is always: the more, the merrier. We’re already blending traditions, and we would be honored to blend yours too. If your baby joins our family, their cultural background and traditions will be celebrated right alongside ours. We love learning about other religions, customs, and ways of life, and we want your child to grow up feeling proud of where they come from. To us, traditions are about love, belonging, and creating memories together. We believe there’s always room at the table for more.
